Non-Toxic DIY Cleaning Products

A recent eye-opening study has shown that typical chemical based cleaning products are just as bad for your health as smoking 20 cigarettes a day!

Every time you clean with toxic products, they can be absorbed into your bloodstream via the skin, or via the lungs by inhalation.

Time to ditch those nasty toxins! Below are a few recipes you can make at home, that are often cheaper in the long run as well as health lovin'....

                                  🌿 HOMEMADE NATURAL CLEANERS 🌿

SPRAY BOTTLE CLEANERS
*Mould killer- 1/4 tsp clove oil in 1 litre of water and 100ml white vinegar
*All purpose anti-bacterial cleaner- 1 tsp (100 drops) lavender oil in 1 litre of water
*Anti-bacterial Floor cleaner- 1 tsp (100) Eucalyptus oil in bucket water (add Castile soap if they need a good soapy wash)
*Window Cleaner- 1 1/2 cups white vinegar, 1/2 cup water and 8 drops lemon oil (again use Castile soap and wash before using spray if really dirty)
*Carpet freshener spray- 1 cup rubbing alcohol, 20 drops tea tree oil and use in a spray bottle

If you can source them, the best bottles to store your cleaning products in are amber glass. Regular glass is also fine as long as you are storing in a dark area. This is to protect the essential oils. Plastic bottles are not suitable to store essential oil products.

Ingredients
1 cup baking soda
¼ cup citric acid
1½ tablespoon unscented castile soap
15 drops Essential Oil (Lemon, Wild Orange, Tea tree or doTERRA's Purify Blend are great choices)

Instructions
1. Stir the baking soda and citric acid together until combined.
2. Slowly stir in the castile soap and essential oil. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.
3. Pack the pod mixture into a mold and let dry at least four hours. If the mixture expands above the mold, firmly press back down.
4. Once dry, remove the pods from the mold and store in an airtight container.

To use, simply drop one into the toilet, wait until the pod stops bubbling, and scrub away!
